# Creating a new Therapist, Referee, or Judge

Contacts who are labeled as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge will show up in the appropriate drop-down menu in a client's Client Team so you can assign them to that client. The Client Team is nested under Case Manager - Contacts.

Use the Contact Manager to manage these contacts in YouthCenter. Find the Contact Manager using the main navigation menu on the left as shown:

## **Creating a New Contact**

To create a new Contact that is categorized as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge, select the green**+ Add a New Person button** in the top right corner:

You'll see the New Person screen that allows you to add information. The First and Last Name are the only required fields, and you can add as much detail as you want to reference later in YouthCenter. **Use the Person Type dropdown** to mark this person as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge. You can type or select Therapist, Referee, or Judge from the list of choices.

If a Judge or Referee is selected, you can also **enter the person's Bar Number** if desired:

The areas listed below appear under all Person forms (only First Name and Last Name are required). Remember to click Save when you are done to save the new contact.

- **Company** will associate the person with any existing Company (in this case, likely a law firm)
- **Send Notifications** will allow the person to get calendar event reminders
- **Photo** is often used to hold an ID or business card

The new person will now be available to assign to any clients as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge. See [Modifying the Client Team Members](https://docs.youthcenter.net/docs/modifying-the-client-team-members/) for more details.

### **Labeling an Existing Contact as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge**

Existing contacts and users can also be labeled as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge. Select the Contact Manager to begin:

**Click into the search bar to find the person** you need to designate as a Therapist, Referee, or Judge. Type in a name and hit Enter or use the magnifying glass to search. Once you find the person, click directly onto their name to see their details. From here, **click the notepad and pen on the top right to edit the Person:**

Using the person type dropdown, either type or select Therapist, Referee, or Judge from the list:

If Judge or Referee is selected, you can also **enter the person's Bar Number** if desired:

The contact will now be a choice in the drop-down menu for the Client Team members in the Therapist, Referee, or Judge field. See [Modifying the Client Team Members](https://docs.youthcenter.net/docs/modifying-the-client-team-members/) for more details.
